1.4 SUBMITTALS
- A. Comply with Section 01330 - Submittal Procedures.
B. Submit manufacturer's product data and installation instructions.
1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- A. Delivery: Deliver materials to site in manufacturer's
original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying
product name and manufacturer.
B. Storage: Store materials in a clean dry area indoors in accordance
with manufacturer's instructions. Keep containers sealed until ready
for use.
C. Handling: Protect materials during handling and installation to prevent
damage or contamination.

2.2 MATERIALS
A. Expansion-Contraction Joint Filler: SEALTIGHT
FIBRE Expansion Joint.
1. Description: Resilient, flexible, nonextruding,
expansion-contraction joint filler. Cellular fibers securely bonded
together, uniformly saturated with asphalt.
2. Compliance:
a. ASTM D 1751.
b. AASHTO M 213.
c. FAA Spec Item P-610-2.7.
d. COE CRD-C 508.
3. Resilience: When compressed to half of original
thickness, recover to a minimum of 70 percent of original thickness.
4. Thickness: [1/4 inch] [3/8 inch] [1/2 inch]
[3/4 inch] [1 inch] ([6 mm] [10 mm] [13 mm] [19 mm] [25 mm]).

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
- A. Examine areas to receive expansion-contraction
joint filler. Notify Architect if conditions are not acceptable. Do
not begin installation until unacceptable conditions have been corrected.
3.2 INSTALLATION
- A. Install expansion-contraction joint filler in
accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Position joint filler against forms, at interrupting objects or columns,
and against abutting structures before concrete placement.

- C. Install joint filler 1/2 inch (13 mm) below
concrete surface.
D. Seal with pavement joint sealant.
3.3 PROTECTION
- A. Protect pavement joint sealant from traffic
until fully cured.
