CONCRETE CURING COMPOUND

SEALTIGHT 1100-CLEAR SERIES Resin-Base, Water-Base, Concrete Curing
Compounds are ready-to-use, liquid compounds for use in curing interior
and exterior, horizontal and vertical concrete surfaces. |
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES
- A. Resin-base, water-base curing compound for interior
and exterior concrete.

1.3 REFERENCES

1.4 SUBMITTALS
- A. Comply with Section 01330 - Submittal Procedures.
B. Submit manufacturer's product data and application instructions.
1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- A. Delivery: Deliver materials to site in manufacturer's
original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying
product name and manufacturer.
B. Storage: Store materials in a clean dry area in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions. Keep containers sealed until ready for use. Keep from
freezing.
C. Handling: Protect materials during handling and application to prevent
damage or contamination.
1.6 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- A. Do not apply curing compound when concrete temperature
is below 40 degrees F (4 degrees C).

2.2 MATERIALS
A. Resin-Base, Water-Base, Concrete Curing Compound:
SEALTIGHT 1100-CLEAR SERIES Water-Base Concrete Curing Compounds.
1. Compliance:
a. ASTM C 309, Type 1, Class B.
b. AASHTO M 148, Type 1, Class B.
2. VOC Content: Meets maximum VOC content limit
of 350 g/L for concrete curing compounds as required by US EPA Architectural
Coatings Rule.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
- A. Examine concrete surfaces to receive curing
compound. Notify Architect if surfaces are not acceptable. Do not begin
application until unacceptable conditions have been corrected.
3.2 APPLICATION
- A. Apply curing compound in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions.
B. Ensure application equipment is clean and free of previously used
materials.
C. Do not dilute curing compound.
D. Horizontal Surfaces: Apply curing compound in a uniform film to horizontal
surfaces as soon as surface water disappears and surface will not be
marred by walking workmen. Avoid puddling in low areas.
E. Vertical Surfaces: Apply curing compound in a uniform film to vertical
surfaces as soon as forms are removed.
F. Cure concrete surfaces as specified in Section 03300.
3.3 PROTECTION
- A. Protect horizontal surfaces from foot traffic
for a minimum of 12 hours after application of curing compound.
