CONCRETE CURING COMPOUND

SEALTIGHT 1600-WHITE Water-Base, Wax-Base Concrete Curing Compound
is a ready-to-use, liquid compound for use in curing exterior horizontal
concrete surfaces. |
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES

1.3 REFERENCES

1.4 SUBMITTALS
- A. Comply with Section 01330 - Submittal Procedures.
B. Submit manufacturer's product data and application instructions.
1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- A. Delivery: Deliver materials to site in manufacturer's
original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying
product name and manufacturer.
B. Storage: Store materials in a clean dry area indoors in accordance
with manufacturer's instructions. Keep containers sealed until ready
for use. Keep from freezing.
C. Handling: Protect materials during handling and application to prevent
damage or contamination.
1.6 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- A. Do not apply curing compound when concrete temperature
is below 40 degrees F (4 degrees C).

2.2 MATERIALS
A. Water-Base, Wax-Base Concrete Curing Compound:
SEALTIGHT 1600-WHITE Water-Base, Wax-Base Concrete Curing Compound.
1. Compliance:
a. ASTM C 309, Type 2, Class A.
b. AASHTO M 148, Type 2, Class A.
2. White pigmented.
3. VOC Content: Meets maximum VOC content of 350
g/L for concrete curing compounds as required by US EPA Architectural
Coatings Rule.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION

- A. Examine concrete surfaces to receive curing
compound. Notify Architect if surfaces are not acceptable. Do not
begin application until unacceptable conditions have been corrected.
3.2 APPLICATION
- A. Apply curing compound in accordance with
manufacturer's instructions.
B. Ensure application equipment is clean and free of previously
used materials.
C. Do not dilute curing compound.
D. Spray curing compound in a uniform film as soon as surface water
disappears. Avoid puddling in low areas.
E. Cure concrete surfaces as specified in Section 03300.
F. Do not use on concrete surfaces where paint, hardeners, sealers,
tile, or other treatments will be applied.
3.3 PROTECTION
- A. Protect surfaces from foot traffic for a
minimum of 4 hours after application of curing compound.
