2.02 MATERIALS
SPEC NOTE: SEALTIGHT 588 PRECISION GROUT is a Portland Cement-base
product. It is non-corrosive, non-gaseous and provides high density, high
initial and ultimate flexural and compressive strengths.
SEALTIGHT 588 PRECISION GROUT is suggested for precision grouting of machinery
bases, generators, rolling mills, punch presses, compressors, etc.; structural
grouting of precast columns, steel columns, crane rails, precast beams,
etc; anchoring of guard rails, sign posts, bridge seats, anchor bolts,
guide wires, dowels, etc.
A. Grout: pre-mixed, Portland Cement-base product
that is non-shrink, non-ferrous and non-gaseous. Grout to be non-corrosive,
meeting Corps of Engineers specification CRD-C 621, with a minimum strength
at 28 days of 10,792 psi (74.5 MPa) when tested with a minimum flow
(plastic) mix, SEALTIGHT 588 PRECISION GROUT, manufactured by
W. R. MEADOWS, INC.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify substrate conditions under provisions
of Section [ ].
3.02 PREPARATION
A. Perform grouting to established concreting procedures
according to ACI recommendations. Clean all grout contact surfaces of
oil, grease, scale and other loose and deleterious substances. Chip
out unsound concrete, leaving surface level but rough.
B. Saturate grouting area with water 12-24 hours
prior to grouting. Remove all excess water before placing grout.
3.03 INSTALLATION
A. Observe application information and precautions
stated in manufacturer's literature.
B. Pouring: Forming must provide for rapid continuous
grout placement. For pouring, allow a minimum clearance of 3 inches
(76.2mm) for entry and 6 inches (152.4mm) minimum grout "head".
C. Venting: Forming must provide for venting to avoid air entrapment.
Do not make close fitting forms, allow 1/2 inch (12.7mm) clearance and
1 inch (25.4mm) for "head".
D. Mix, place and cure grout in accordance to manufacturer's written
instructions.
3.04 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK
A. Protect finished Work under provisions of Section
[01500].
