2.02 MATERIALS
SPEC NOTE:SEALTIGHT REZI-WELD RAPID SET EPOXY (LV) Injection Pre-Pak
is a clear, two-component, 100% solids, low viscosity, rapid setting,
penetrating epoxy compound.
SEALTIGHT REZI-WELD RAPID SET is designed to be either gravity fed or
pressure injected into horizontal concrete cracks for restoration of bridges,
buildings, highways or any concrete construction requiring repair.
A. Injection Pre-Pak Epoxy: 100% solids, low viscosity,
penetrating compound that is moisture insensitive, chemical resistant,
high-modulus, high-strength and provides a VOC-compliant installation.
The two-component, clear epoxy to be furnished in a 10 ounce (295.74
ml) pre-pak, self-contained mixing cartridge, meeting ASTM C 881, Types
I and II, Grade 1, Class B and C, SEALTIGHT REZI-WELD RAPID SET EPOXY
(LV), INJECTION PRE-PAK, manufactured by W. R. MEADOWS, INC.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify substrate conditions under provisions
of Section [ ].
B. All concrete surfaces to be bonded to should
be at least 28 days old.
3.02 PREPARATION
A. Surfaces must be free of standing water and completely
clean of dirt, rust, curing compounds, grease, oil, paint, waxes and
other materials which would prevent a solid bond.
B. Clean concrete by sandblasting to a sound surface.
Vacuum or blow dust away with compressed air.
C. Concrete contaminated with only laitance and dirt, other than grease
or oil, may be acid etched. Smooth surfaces, such as wood, or cured
epoxy, require sanding or other mechanical abrasion. Sandblast exposed
steel surfaces and vacuum clean; if not possible, degrease the surface
and use sandpaper or a wire brush to reveal continuous, bright metal.
D. Sandblast metal base plates until bright metal is revealed.
3.03 INSTALLATION
A. Observe mixing and application information and
precautions stated in manufacturer's literature.
B. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
3.04 CLEAN-UP
A. Clean tools and equipment immediately with Toluene.
Clean equipment away from heat, sparks and open flame and avoid breathing
vapors or allowing epoxy-containing solvent to contact skin. Should
this material come in contact with the skin, wash thoroughly with soap
and water.
3.05 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK
A. Protect finished Work under provisions of Section
[01500].
