CONCRETE DENSIFIER AND CHEMICAL HARDENER

SEALTIGHT LIQUI-HARD Concrete Densifier and Chemical Hardener is
a ready-to-use, colorless, liquid concentration of 100 percent active
chemicals that deeply penetrate the concrete surface for use in
producing hardened, dustproof, and improved chemically-resistant
surfaces. |
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 SECTION INCLUDES

- A. Section 03300 - Cast-in-Place Concrete.
1.3 SUBMITTALS
- A. Comply with Section 01330 - Submittal Procedures.
B. Submit manufacturer's product data and application instructions.
1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
- A. Delivery: Deliver materials to site in manufacturer's
original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying
product name and manufacturer.
B. Storage: Store materials in a clean dry area in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions. Keep containers sealed until ready for use. Keep from
freezing.
C. Handling: Protect materials during handling and application to prevent
damage or contamination.
1.5 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- A. Do not apply concrete densifier and chemical
hardener when concrete temperature is below 35 degrees F (2 degrees
C) or above 135 degrees F (57 degrees C).

2.2 MATERIALS
A. Concrete Densifier and Chemical Hardener: SEALTIGHT
LIQUI-HARD Concrete Densifier and Chemical Hardener Compound.
1. VOC Content: Meets maximum VOC content limit
of 400 g/L for concrete protective coatings as required by US EPA
Architectural Coatings Rule.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
- A. Examine concrete surfaces to receive concrete
densifier and chemical hardener. Notify Architect if surfaces are not
acceptable. Do not begin surface preparation or application until unacceptable
conditions have been corrected.
3.2 SURFACE PREPARATION
- A. Prepare surfaces in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions.
B. New Concrete: Wait a minimum of 72 hours after placement of concrete
before applying concrete densifier and chemical hardener. Ensure surface
is dry and free of dirt, dust, oil, grease, residue, curing compounds,
sealers, waxes, contaminants, and laitance.
C. Existing Concrete: Ensure surface is dry, structurally sound, and
free of dirt, dust, oil, grease, residue, sealers, waxes, contaminants,
and laitance. Repair holes, cracks, and deteriorated areas.
3.3 APPLICATION
- A. Apply concrete densifier and chemical hardener
in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B. Ensure application equipment is clean and free of previously used
materials.
C. Do not dilute concrete densifier and chemical hardener.
3.4 PROTECTION
- A. Protect horizontal surfaces from foot traffic
for a minimum of 12 hours after application of concrete densifier and
chemical hardener.
