NON-GASSING, HEAT-RESISTANT BACKER ROD
Retains original diameter when used with hot-applied sealants. SEALTIGHT CERA-ROD Non-Gassing, Heat-Resistant Backer Rod provides correct form and control depth for proper joint configurations. CERA-ROD retains its original diameter and will not shrink, melt or emit gas when used with hot or cold-applied joint sealants.

Technical Description
CERA-ROD is a round, flexible, continuous-length, non-absorbent, non-gassing, non-staining, and non-shrinking material extruded from a cross-linked polyethylene. Compression/deflection is approximately 25 % at 8 psi (55.2 KPa).

Uses
CERA-ROD is used in joints or large cracks in Portland Cement or asphaltic concrete. It provides the correct sealant reservoir configuration, controls joint depth and prevents sealant run-out through the bottom of the joint. CERA-ROD also acts as a bond-breaker to prevent bottom side sealant adhesion. The product works equally well with either hot or cold-applied sealants.

Application
JOINT OR CRACK PREPARATION: Remove all dirt and foreign matter.

METHOD OF APPLICATION: Install CERA-ROD with a double-wheeled roller or any smooth, blunt instrument that will insert the material without stretching or puncturing it. CERA-ROD needs to be held in compression to work effectively. The diameter of the rod should be 1/8" larger than the width of the joint for joint widths up to 3/4"; for joints 3/4" and larger, add 1/4" to diameter rod selection. All SEALTIGHT hot-applied or cold-applied joint sealant applications can follow immediately.

MEADOWS, INC. warrants that, at the time and place we make shipment, our materials will be of good quality and will conform with our published specifications in force on the date of acceptance of the order. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY SHALL BE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OTHERWISE ARISING BY OPERATION OF LAW, COURSE OF DEALING, CUSTOM OF TRADE OR OTHERWISE. As the exclusive remedy for breach of this Warranty, we will replace defective materials, provided, however, that the buyer examine the materials when received and promptly notify us in writing of any defect before the materials are used or incorporated into a structure. Three (3) months after W. R. MEADOWS, INC. has shipped the materials, all our Warranty and other duties with respect to the quality of the materials delivered shall conclusively be presumed to have been satisfied, all liability therefore terminates, and no action for breach of any such duties may thereafter be commenced. W. R. MEADOWS, INC. shall in no event be liable for consequential damages. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, no warranty is made with respect to materials not manufactured by W. R. MEADOWS, INC. We cannot warranty or in any way guarantee any particular method of use or application of the performance of materials under any particular condition.
