2.02 MATERIALS
SPEC NOTE: SEALTIGHT FUTURA is a single-component, rapid-setting, deep-patching
compound. Composed of unique cements, special fine aggregates and selected
admixtures. FUTURA Concrete Patch produces early, high-strength patches
which contain no soluble chlorides, magnesium phosphate or sulphates to
damage reinforcing steel. FUTURA is rapid setting and is highly resistant
to corrosive elements.
SEALTIGHT FUTURA Concrete Patch is ideal for patching concrete highways,
bridges, airport runways and taxi strips. It works equally well for general
patching of commercial and industrial concrete surfaces.
A. Concrete Patch: to meet ASTM C 928, with typical
28 day compressive strength of 10,850 psi, be a cementitious base with
fine aggregates and contain no soluble chlorides, magnesium phosphates
or sulphates to damage reinforcing steel, SEALTIGHT FUTURA, manufactured
by W. R. MEADOWS, INC.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Verify substrate conditions under provisions
of Section [ ].
3.02 PREPARATION
A. Perform concrete patching to established concreting
procedures according to ACI recommendations. Thoroughly clean surface
area where patch is to be placed.
3.03 INSTALLATION
A. Observe application information and precautions
stated in manufacturer's literature.
B. For deep patches, add 6.5 pints (3.08 liters)
of water and 25 lbs. (11.34 kg) of washed and dried 1/4 to 1/2 inch
(6.35 to 12.7mm) crushed limestone aggregate conforming to ASTM C33,
Table 2, Size No. 7 to each 50 lb. (22.68 kg) bag of FUTURA.
C. Fill voids flush to the surface.
3.04 PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK
A. Protect finished Work under provisions of Section
[01500].
